Paying for care, without the confusion

There are more ways to fund home care than most families realise. Here's an honest guide to the main routes for families across North London. Your exact cost depends on your care plan. We give every family a clear written quote once we've talked through your needs, and we'll happily explain funding on the phone.

Council funding

Local council care assessment

Anyone can ask their local council for a free care needs assessment, whether that's Enfield or a neighbouring North London borough. If you're eligible, the council may fund some or all of your care, depending on a financial assessment of your savings and income.

Direct payments

If the council funds your care, you can ask for the money as a direct payment and choose your own provider, including Primavera Care. You stay in control of who comes into your home.

Attendance Allowance & PIP

Attendance Allowance (over State Pension age) and Personal Independence Payment are benefits that don't depend on savings. Many of our clients use them to cover part of their care, and many eligible people never claim.

NHS Continuing Healthcare

If care needs are primarily health-related, for example after a hospital stay or with a complex condition, the NHS may fund the full package of care at home, regardless of income.

Self-funding

Many families fund care privately. You pay only for the visits in your plan, no joining fees, no long contracts, and you can increase, reduce or pause visits as needs change.
